At a delicious pre Hanukkah lunch today at Newton Mearns Reform Synagogue organised by the Association of Jewish Refugees, the Lord-Lieutenant presented a British Empire Medal to Myrna Bernard for her lifetime of service to the Jewish Community in Scotland. Latterly Myrna worked for the Association of Jewish Refugees tracing and supporting Holocaust survivors and their descendants. Myrna has also made a significant contribution to supporting and advocating on behalf of people with significant learning difficulties in East Renfrewshire. Altogether a very happy afternoon!
