At a ceremony in the Grand Corridor in Greenock Town Hall hosted by the Provost of Inverclyde, volunteers from the Inverclyde Shed were presented with the King’s Award for Voluntary Service by the Lord-Lieutenant. Only founded in 2018, the volunteers have created a thriving environment where lonely and isolated individuals can come together, make friends, learn new skills and flourish. For some people this has unquestionably been a life-changing experience. The extensive volunteer-led engagement in so many projects for all ages throughout Inverclyde has brought immeasurable benefit across the whole community. The Inverclyde Shed volunteers are very modest about their achievements, but the Lord-Lieutenant remarked that they were highly deserving of the Award.
