The Lord-Lieutenant presented no less than 15 Queens Badges to the Queens Men of Inverclyde and District Boys’ Brigade Battalion at a ceremony at St John’s Church Gourock on Tuesday 27 August. The Queen’s Badge is the highest award that may be gained by a member of The Boys’ Brigade and offers the chance to engage with the local community, take on responsibility, set personal goals, build confidence and experience a sense of achievement.

Following a warm welcome by Battalion President Mr Alan Aitken MBE,  Colonel McCarthy congratulated all of the Queens Men in rising to this challenge and remarked on the considerable contribution from  their volunteer leaders, family and friends who had supported and encouraged them along the way.
