The Lord-Lieutenant presented King’s Scout Awards to Craig Griffin , James Gallagher and Amy Harvey from Eastwood Scouting District. All three have already had an outstanding scouting journey and are now continuing their service as adult leaders. A very rare Chief Scout’s Commendation for Meritorious Conduct was also presented to a young Explore Scout Steven Paton. Last October on the very day he completed his First Responder training with the Scouts, that evening he found himself giving CPR alongside his mother to his father who had suffered a heart attack. The Lord-Lieutenant remarked that all of his 11 years with the British Red Cross, he did not remember coming across such a remarkable story of a young person putting his first aid training to use when it mattered most and saving the life of a family member!
