Diamond Jubilee Commemoration

Date: 14/03/2011

The Jubilee Woods project is looking to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen through the planting of woods in different parts of the country.

In 2012 we will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen's accession to the throne.

To mark the occasion and to provide a lasting legacy the Woodland Trust are working with landowners and communities to create hundreds of new native woods across the UK.   HRH The Princess Royal has agreed to be the Patron.   The pinnacle of the project will be the creation of 60 very special Diamond Woods, each representing a year of Her Majesty's reign.

The new Director for the Woodland Trust in Scotland has given Renfrewshire the option to submit a wood to the selection committee and is keen that, if possible we have a Diamond Wood.
